1000 Doors Readathon
Hi all,
Hope you are having a great day :-)
A couple of weeks ago I completed the 1000 Doors Readathon and wanted to share with you what great fun it was.
I follow DrinkingByMyShelf (here’s the link to the YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBv9PyaDIjq_7nnTreH93_A) where I came across the Readathon. Emma who runs this channel was one of the hosts for it.
Before this, I had only completed a 24 hour readathon and I liked the idea that this one didn’t have a fixed time limit as such.
You start with a prompt, read a book related to it, and then answer a question once you have which will take you through a door to your next prompt.
My first prompt was: ‘Five’ and for this I read 5 Quarters of an Orange.
My second prompt was: ‘Old and New’ and for this, I read a brand new book - The Book That Reads You
My third prompt was: ‘Outside’ and for this I read ‘Walking Away’ which was focused on a walk
My fourth prompt was: ‘Yellow’ and for this I chose a book with yellow writing on the cover ‘Here Come the Bridesmaids’
My fifth prompt was: ‘Me’ and we had to read a book which we thought Emma would read. I read a book that she had already read so I hope that kind of counts - We Should All Be Feminists. I read this on Kindle which is why it isn’t in the photo below.
Emma was my host throughout and I really enjoyed the prompts.
A really fun readathon and I am definitely going to do this if the lovely organisers run it again in the future :-)
