TBR for January 2021
Hi All,
Hope you are well?
I don’t know about you but with an every increasing TBR - at times you can almost feel a bit pressured to get reading done and that, can at times, almost take from the experience. I was fortunate to get several books over the Christmas period and I had a hard decision of what to read first. I had three books sat on the table in front of me for quite some time before I picked one up as I couldn’t decide which to read first. In the end I went for Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin.
So rather than overwhelm myself with dozens of titles, I’m going to choose just 4 books that I definitely want to get through each month. Obviously, I would love to read more than 4 a month but I feel that is an achievable number that will take any pressure off.
So the 4 that I chose for January are:
Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yōko Ogawa
The Clapback: Your Guide to Calling Out Racist Stereotypes by Elijah Lawal
I’m now halfway through The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and I have to say, I absolutely am loving it. Just when I think I know what is going to happen next, there is something totally unexpected. I’m hoping to finish that this week.
I’m also about two chapters into The Clapback which I’m reading on my Amazon Fire tablet (a Christmas present from my other half). This book is really interesting and I really recommend it. It covers all different stereotypes that the author has come across and why essentially, they aren’t true.
