September 2020 Reading

I only got through 4 books in September -

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy

This wasn’t a particularly long book but I found it really helpful. It is about managing your to-do lists and the importance of tackling the key tasks first, even if you really don’t want to do them. If you are a procrastinator like me or just have an overwhelming to do list - I recommend this book. 5 out of 5 for me.

Here and Now by Santa Montefiore

I have loved every book by Santa Montefiore up until this book. I’m at the stage, when she releases a book - I just buy it, don’t even read the back cover. This is the first book that had me a bit disappointed. We join a family that’s been hit with an illness (I won’t put any key spoilers) and how the family and community assist this individual. It’s a lovely idea, about an illness that is really close actually in our lives, but I found this really frustrating to read. To me, it has an idealistic way of what could happy in that situation but not remotely realistic. It kind of stopped where it should have continued to connect to us that this affects. Won’t put me off reading her other books but as I said, really disappointed. I’m afraid 1 out of 5 for this one.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

The second in the Hunger Games series and I enjoyed this as much as the first. I love finding out some things that weren’t able to make it into the film. 4 out of 5.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

This is the third book in the Hunger Games series and like the above, enjoyed it and liked to see bits that didn’t make the film. 4 out of 5 for this one too.
