February 2021 Reading

Hi All,

Hope you are having a great day :-)

I am really pleased with my reading this month. From reading just 3 books in January I stepped it up and have read / listened to 13 books in February.

I stuck to me rules and read the 3 minimum from my random number generator - Life’s a Pitch, Brooklyn and Silence of the Lambs!

  1. One for the Road by Stephen King 3/2/2021 - listened to the audiobook. My first experience of Stephen King and I actually quite enjoyed it. Was short but quite gripping.

  2. Graveyard Shift by Stephen King 3/2/2021 - another audiobook. I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first one but I do quite like Stephen King’s style

  3. The Babysitters Remember by Ann M. Martin 3/2/2021 - the last of the specials I wanted to re-read. A sweet story.

  4. The Reploids by Stephen King 4/2/2021 - continuing my Stephen King audiobook session. I admit this one didn’t do it for me, found it quite dull.

  5. The Jaunt by Stephen King 4/2/2021 - found this one more interesting. The last of my February Stephen Kind audiobook sessions.

  6. Happy by Fearne Cotton 6/2/2021 - I thought this was sweet. I’m not one for activities in books as I have a separate journal for that but I enjoyed it, loved the chats with other people. Well written and sweet.

  7. The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris 8/2/2021 - I was not looking forward to reading this. I thought I would hate it but had bought it as a book that I felt I should try and it was selected by my random number generator. I loved this book! I devoured it in about 3 or 4 evenings and I need to read the other related books! Some twists, drama and suspense - really enjoyed it.

  8. Brooklyn by Colm Toibin 12/2/2021 - I had tried to read this book before and DNF-d it. I did finish it this time. I’m pleased I did so I know what happens but didn’t enjoy it I’m afraid. Felt the ending was really rushed. A lot seemed to happen in just the last 50 pages which could have been spread out a bit more.

  9. Life’s a Pitch by Stephen Bayley and Roger Mavity 19/2/2021 - a gamechanger book. I learned so much from it. I loved the two different writing styles. I would recommend this book to any business owner! Fantastic read!

  10. The Forgotten Women Heroes (Second World War Untold Stories) by Scott S.G. Meaker 19/2/2021 - I found this really good to read and I will be looking for similar untold stories like this.

  11. A Crime Short Story Collection from Bloomsbury 19/2/2021 - Short and dark stories - really enjoyed it.

  12. Bizarre True Stories by Layla Hawkes 20/2/2021 - was a bit let down for this. Just not bizarre enough for me!!

  13. Once Upon A Time in the West Country by Tony Hawks 20/2/2021 - one of my favourite authors. I hadn’t realised he had written this book! Devoured it in a few hours. Really funny :-)

  14. How to be a Productivity Ninja by Graham Allcott 28/2/2021 - I’ve implemented some of the things I’ve learned from this book already! My email inbox and to do list are now set up so much better. I’d really recommend this book!

Roll on March - I’ve kicked my reading slump and can’t wait to read more :-)
